well, from what I understand, al quida tried to do exactly that. speculation has it that the plane that hit the pentagon and flight 98 were supposed to hit the White House and Congress. and, al quida is nothing if not persistent. . . .
yes, TC-- I've wondered myself what crisis he might hatch in the last days of his reign in order to declare martial law and call off the elections. hopefully, the amendment [don't remember the number] that was passed after FDR will stop him before he tries it--but I don't see anything as beyond his greed and hubris. not to mention his attempt to avoid any consequences to his actions when he's no longer protected from prosecution.
and, Polishifter-- can you tell me more about the internment camps and the roundups? I've spent the last couple of days trying to find out more and come up lacking. . . .
TC, Bush elected to preserve internment camps used to hold the Japanese during WWII as a memorial. I think I posted it at PP, but am not sure. When I learned about this the question of an ulterior motive entered my mind too.

I've noticed many of the same parallels. It's pretty frightening. Given the parallels, I sure hope nobody burns Congress, like the Reichstag fire.
I agree with Tomcat, the parallels are frightening.
Especially now that Halliburton has built internment camps and the roundups of immigrants have begun.
Little by little, we're frogs in a pot with the heat being turned up one click at a time.

My worry is as much about what Al Dubya might do as it is about what Al Qaeda might do. If Al Queda fails to act, Al Dubya just might.
