Remember the Democrats' first 100 hours?
Haven't heard much about that lately, have you?
The reason is the more than 33,000 hours we've been in Iraq.
Never mind that House Democrats have kept their promise by boosting the minimum wage, loosening federal restrictions on stem-cell research and allowing Medicare to negotiate over drug prices. In a normal environment, these domestic initiatives would be a major deal. But it increasingly seems that the war obliterates everything else.

It would be lovely to get back to the sanity of the domestic policies.
I sincerely hope the measures being taken on the war in the House will make that possible.

interesting thoughts, i'm glad i've read this perspective.
I agree. I think the thongs in the Dems 100 hour agenda are important for America, and I applaud what they are doing. I've been tracking it on C-Span, and the only downside is that the GOP has wasted about 1/4 of the time whining about the rules. As important as the war is, the Dems are right to pass the agenda they promised to America. I also think they need to do more than they are doing to oppose Bush's war and bring it to an end.
