McCain Stumbling to the Right

This morning on This Week With George Stephanopolous, McCain said: the vote of disapproval put forth by Congress was, ‘a vote of No- Confidence against our troops.’
Excuse me but that is pure pandering to the Conservatives. Congress’s vote was, certainly, a vote of No-Confidence—but it had nothing to do with the troops. It had everything to do with Bush’s policy or, more accurately, lack of policy, in Iraq.

Obviously, he’s taking a page from Bush’s book: Let’s twist the facts and put words in the mouths of the Congressional Democrats.
Hey! It worked for Bush! Right up until he GOT into the White House. After that, not so good.
But, McCain is taking yet another lesson from W: he’ll let the way he’s planning to actually govern the country wait till after he gets the job. Till then, he’ll simply spout stupid rhetoric--just like Bush does.

exactly, TC
obviously another case of pandering.
I hope the tactic works as well for McCain as Bush's lies and twisting the truth have for HIM.

McCain might get the nomination anyway. He has three things going for him. $$$, $$$$, and more $$$$$. Since he's demonstrated, in the last year, just how willing he is to sell out, he's becoming a corporate sweetheart.

oh, I think he stands a very good chance of getting the nomination. he's got the backing he needs in the republican party and more money than God.

hopefully, my prediction that a bump-on-a-log with a D behind it's name would win over anyone at all with an R behind his.

it remains to the Dems, tho, to nominate someone who ISN'T a bump-on-a-log -- or we'll still be in the soup.

This always amazes me... and exactly HOW does the fine Senator explain the lengths our troops went to earlier in January to tell our Congress that the war MUST END NOW????

troops? saying get out? THAT doesn't make it into his world-view.
he can just ignore little details like what the troops on the ground are saying.
sounding more and more like Bush, huh?

Yesterday's vote made the GOP look bad, TC. And that's good for 2008.
