Just in Time for Summer

Aren't these too cool for words? Unfortunately, I can't get em -- since they're made for people with little feet--women's 10 is littler'n ME, anyway.
So, thought I'd just pass em on and see if anyone else thinks they're as cool as I do. :)

Take recycling one "step" further with our Bazura Bag Sandals! Made of discarded juice drink boxes, these clever works of foot-adornment art are certainly among the most unique and industrious uses of post-consumer materials out there.

Made by a women's cooperative in the Philippines using cleaned, recycled foil juice packs. Naturally indestructible, these empty foil juice packs could have clogged landfills for thousands of years if not reused into these incredibly long-lasting sandals!

Choose U.S. women's whole sizes 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 (European women's sizes 37, 39, 40, 41, or 43). Handmade in and fair-traded from the Philippines.

I like them! I'm an 11 but can usually wear size 10 sandals since there is no upper to cram the heel of your foot into.

hey! another big-foot!
I've worn homemade shoes for so long, I'm a 12 wide MENS'-- and probably still growing [well, spreading]
**sigh**
well, at least I can pass em on----

Wow, homemade shoes! I tried that when I was a kid. I used the soles of old shoes and glued/sewed on fabric from the clothes I was also designing. *laugh* My cousins from LA came to visit then for the first time...What hicks they thought we were...Sewing our own clothes and shoes! Ha. I still think it's a great idea though. I'd love to know how you make them...a post sometime perhaps? And let me know what your computer questions were while I'm back to blogging and I'll try and answer them. :-)

so sad that people label creative people 'hicks' because they act differently from the norm.

Tandy Leather sells [or used to sell--and might still do so] a pattern book [25 patterns]. I've also designed some myself but have learned one important lesson: the native Americans whose patterns are in the book spent thousands of years perfecting their designs--so theirs are better than mine. :)

Gee...thanks for looking for that, TC! I'll have to check it out...meanwhile, another work week begins so I'd better catch some Zzzzs before diving in. Take care!

it was actually no trouble, AC.
I'm finally settled enough in my new home to start making shoes again--and my pattern book is missing in action. I'm sure it's still packed away in some box or other. but, it was simpler just to buy another so-----I hunted it down. :)
