This from The Huffington Post:
Kristol Bawls by Ellis Weiner

William Kristol . . . has delivered of himself a paragraph. . . in the New York Times, which raises the envelope of dishonesty and stretches the bar of disingenuousness in exciting new dimensions:

'The American conservative movement has been remarkably successful. We shouldn't take that success for granted. It's not easy being a conservative movement in a modern liberal democracy....'

Especially when it's not remotely "conservative," but never mind. From the people who put the "con" in Neo-con comes the New Triumphalism: a whiny, self-pitying cry of victory as every element and detail of their project is revealed to have been a lie, a scam, a shakedown, a fraud, and a failure.

Awwwwwww-- Poor Billie.
One could almost squeeze out a tear for him if one weren't already weeping for the true victims of the regime he is attempting to sing the praises of while watching it finally take its rightful place--in the dustbin of history.

kristol's another right wing mindless worm. This is no conservative movement. They've perverted conservatism, Religion, Democracy, everything to follow their underhaded agenda and it has been digustingly successful!

I like how he contrasts his "conservatism" with "modern liberal democracy," as though modern liberal democracy is a BAD thing. That tells me all I need to know about their neoCON philosophy.

The conservative movement has been astonishingly successful, TC. When in history has a small group of ideologues moved so much wealth from the poor and middle classes into the pockets of millionaires?

hi, AAP--
yep. everything they've touched, they've perverted. and, yes, they succeeded-- until recently. may they now reap the rewards of what they've sown.

hi, dguzman--
just as Falwell labeled 'humanists' as bad and the American public bought his message.
even though it was humanists who ended slavery, who brought our children out of the mines and into schools, who created labor unions so that corporate shops no longer owned the workers, who gave us the minimum wage and still work to keep it abreast of inflation, who have lobbied for clean air and water and safe products.
these are the 'evils' Falwell railed against.

yep, TC--
they have been amazingly successful given that their message has been that of 1] hate and 2] 'just so long as I get mine, the hell with you getting yours-- no matter how hard you work for it.'
