Please Stop the Barbarism

This is off the beaten path for this blog-- and it MUST be included as you will see as you read it.
Please read this--pass it on via email, via your own blogs, by whatever means you can use, to as many people as you can reach .
This must not be allowed to continue--as it
will continue unless we act in concert with one another.
^^^
In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, paid five children in an impoverished area of Costa Rica to help him catch this terrified stray dog. The dog had no way to escape capture or his fate once he was in the hands of this cruel maniac.
Habacuc tied the dog to a rope in an art gallery and starved him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibit watched, emotionless, the unfolding of the shameful 'masterpiece' of the dog's agony until, finally, he died.

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' qualified as 'art', so Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

PLEASE STOP HIM.
^^^
Please go here and sign the petition asking that Ha
bacuc be banned from the Biennial of 2008 and all future exhibits put on by this body. [You must add a comment to ban him from future exhibits. Please do that, too.]

Also, please contact the gallery where the next exhibit is scheduled to take place:

Finally--The Animal Legal Defense Fund. suggests: 'At this point, we feel the most effective method of protest is to write local animal protection agencies demanding they put a stop to this exhibit. You can search for agencies

This guy is even worse than Michael Vick. At least Vick's victims died quickly. This was pure torture. That said, both belong in prison. I wonder how much he would enjoy being chained to a wall and slowly starved to death.

Every time I look at the pictures of that dog I want to cry. You know, there's an old legend that the gates of heaven are protected by dogs. Those that have been cruel to dogs on earth, will never see God....or something like that. This guy is toast.

I heard that a while ago. How the Hell can you call starvation of anything art? He ought to really be a star and volunteer himself. Geezus H Krist! He should be in with Vick!

what is worse (and this is sick) is that no one did anything about it.

hi, Linda sama--
well, they did get off their barcoloungers.
they did get all dressed up
they did go to the art show
they did stand around drinking wine and eating cheese and crackers.
and, I imagine they talked about how 'powerful' the piece was in terms of what it said about today's world -- or
something.

and someone did request that he do it again.

oh---- other than THAT you mean?
ummm-- no, I guess not.

What the f*ck is WRONG with this person and those who didn't prevent this terrible act? I am sick just thinking about it.

I am usually against the death penalty with the exception of those who torture animals and children. In fact I'd gladly torture this man to death personally.

hi, Mauigirl--

and when I think about how incensed people got over someone doing something with elephant dung.
but, THIS piece??? **yawn** I'm going to the buffet table. do you want anything?

Anytime that guy wants to work for the Bush administration, I'm sure they'll find him a post. What a vile, vile bastard.

The potential for depravity knows no bounds.

hey randal--
this administration probably has this guy on speed-dial.
