Then There Are Cartoons That Aren't Meant to Amuse:
But, at least we've gotten to the point where we can begin to think about the repair process.

I hope you're right, but I fear it's going to take a lot more than a good speech maker, or a warmonger to get it done.

I'm leaving. Good Luck!

hey fwy---
I hope, not only that Obama & Co are up to the job, but that they're WILLING, as well. I know how hard it can be, when someone has made you a gift of all that power, to willingly give it back.

Meanwhile, 'leaving'? As in gettin out of Dodge? Where are you going?
I have to admit it's extremely tempting.

For me, Holland and/or Denmark would be my first choices as far as people and politics are concerned. But both are at risk as global warming accelerates [said the Floridian].

But, after sweating blood to get to Florida, it's hard to give it up without a fight before I've even finished the moving-in process.
And, here I'm AT sea level, at least -- not BELOW it.

Sheesh, I don't think Americans care about the Constitution any more.

The amount of people who support torture in this country and the suspension of habeas corpus let alone warrantless wire tapping blows my mind.

hey, Poli--
good to see you.
as to people not caring, I think it's a matter of where you look.
I'm still hearing quite a bit about the shredding of the Constitution, torture, the lies that got us into Iraq, Plame, the wiretaps, impeachment, etc. etc.

whether we'll be able to bring charges and make any of em stick is anyone's guess, of course, but I'm not giving up on the human race. yet.

If we can get Obama in and keep him alive we might stand a slim chance of putting it together but I do not see it ever coming together as it as. Under Bush an awesome amount of power has been gained honestly or dishonestly and there is no way in hell I see it being allowed in Dem hands or relinquished by whoever!

i dont think we can fix what damage bush has done --- ever

hi, AAP--
ain't gonna happen on Bush's watch, that's certain. I hope Obama is up to the job. as I say, it's a lot to ask-- giving up that much power. but, if he doesn't, the US will simply cease to exist.

the roman empire is a good example of what happens to republics that become dictatorships. IT limped along for a while but, finally, rotted from within.

and things seem to happen faster today than they did back then. I doubt it would take 500 years today.

hey, Robert--
I hope we're not too late.

hi, dc--
I'm of Ben Franklin's mind on that.
I'm more interested in the Constitution than I am in the 'turrists'.
why do their job for em???
