In Doctor Tiller's Name

Hey folks-- I was reading the Article at Huffington Post about the assassination of Dr. Tiller and someone made the suggestion of making a donation to Planned Parenthood in his name.

It sounded like a great idea, to me, so I went to the site and donated. It didn't offer a way to d
onate in the name of a particular person but I figure they'll probably get lots of donations today -- and they'll know why.

So, I just wanted to pass on the idea to everyone here. And please pass it on to your blogs and email address books, won't you?
Thanks.

Pro lifers are sick! Life I guess is sacred until you are born.
I was stupefied to hear some say Tiller deserved it and was a mass murderer along the lines of Hitler.

hi, Jim--
yep-- as a friend said to me back in the 1970's in re Jerry Falwell:
'protect em while they're in the womb, draft em once they're out.'

what do you want to bet the man who killed Tiller isn't anti-war?

meanwhile, I've read one commenter on the HuffPo article-- probably in all innocence --say, "Why did he stay in Kansas if he'd been shot and had his clinic bombed? why didn't he move if it was so dangerous?"

yep. it's blame the victim time.

Obama said, "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence." --If Obama only cared that much about the countless babies who died at the hands of that abortionist...

A family member said, "Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today's event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George's friends and patients. This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace." Wow, how about the wombs that all of those babies were in? The womb is supposed to be a safe place of peace for a baby. But that monster would intrude and kill each one of them, with no remorse.

And I do not feel sorry for a family who loved a murderer. And I sure do NOT feel sorry for a church that had no problem allowing a murderer to attend.

Debra--
welcome to PP&D.

I'm willing to civilly agree to disagree on this hot-button issue.

I lay a lot of the blame on Oreilley who has been calling for his death for years calling him Tiller the Baby killer. I put a story together for tomorrow but this coming to ahead. By the way. that guy was anti Democrat and was caught in the past with bomb making material. Keep watching and listening then put everything together. Hope you are well two crows stay in touch!

agreed about O'Reilly, Jim.

the people who call for these acts of violence back-pedal furiously after the inevitable nut-job carries out their orders.

I will leave that comment alone, too, since this is not my site.

I've been reading about Dr. Tiller and how much good he had done outside of the issue that got him killed. He was a good and decent man. As I understand it, the late-term abortions that he performed were not frivolous, but were, rather, performed as a last resort.

People like Bill O'Reilly are the monsters. So are the people who cry over abortions but don't lift a finger to help poor or sick children. If they cared at all, with their numbers we could have Universal Health Care, and every child in America would have enough to eat.

Shame on them.

hi, Ramona--
since Dr. Tiller's death, I've been making the rounds educating as many as I can that 3rd trimester abortions are never undertaken unless the life or health of the mother is at grave risk or the fetus is not viable.

I had to hold the hand of one of my clients, years ago, when she had to make the decision to abort a late-term fetus whose brain had not developed beyond the brain stem. she went through hell for weeks.

if the people who scream so loudly about it would educate themselves, the world might just be a better place.

and btw--
please feel free to reply to anyone who comments here.

acourse, the comment you left says it all, doesn't it?

Two Crows, I can't even begin to tell you how bloody sick I am of ignorant people who get up on their smug soap box and spout off without knowing what in hell they're talking about. I just watched Michael Moore's "Sicko" and, between crying and beating the arm of my couch, I'm worn to a frazzle. I can't STAND it anymore! We are wallowing in stupidity and it's killing us! As Moore says, we're the only nation in the Western world without universal health care. He took sick people to CUBA--people who couldn't get the care they needed here in the US--and they were treated with care and concern and modern equipment with no expectation of payment. We're being LIED to day after day about what we can do here. Pure greed has taken over and the greedy know full well the bloody ignorant will fight against any reforms and keep them rich.
Imagine anyone with a family who would fight against universal health care in order to line the pockets of greedy Pharma. Jesus! It's sickening.
(End of rant--for now.)

hi Ramona--
it never fails to amaze me how many people seem to will themselves to remain ignorant. and always about the most important issues.

like life-and-death abortion matters.
like life-and-death child health matters.
and how many folks who have worked assembly lines all their lives are coming out AGAINST the newest labor union issue? just as if such a stance was in their own best interest-- not that of the CEO's?

it seems it's easier to believe propaganda than to educate oneself.
I just don't get it.
