Former Reagan Aide Compares Bush to Hitler

Reagan never was my flavor-of-the-month. I never did see what the media apparently did in the 'Great Communicator.' One of my bedtime-reading books back then, in fact, was, 'Ronald Reagan's Reign of Error.'

All that said, however, when one of Reagan's former aides comes out with a similar anyalysis to the one I made last week concerning G.W. Bush, I do sit up and take notice.
See here for the article in The Raw Story.

I saw this too, but I'm not sure if it's fair..... to Adolf.

you may be right.
Hitler was more honest about his power grab back in the 30's, it seems to me. Or is that just hindsight?

the people then and the people now, tho, seem[ed] to be wearing the same blinders.
'Isn't it all fine? Isn't it all lovely? So long as it doesn't affect me directly.' Not seeing that it does.

That's a good question. It's so much easier to see what Adolf was up to with 50+ years of hindsight. On the other, the way Germany, one of the most sophisticated and cultured nations in its day, fell under Hitler's spell, makes our own experience with Bush more clear..... and more frightening.

the more I see the more terrified I become.
the reason I'm seriously contemplating renting a home when I get to florida [IF!] is not Katrina-sized storms--devastating as they are. it's Hurricane Bush that's got me afraid to put down roots. I want to be ready to cut-and-run at a moment's notice.

when the Boy Scouts start spouting slogans, I'll start packing. hope it's not too late at that point.

I'm wondering how long it will be before the girl scouts start goose stepping. Have a fast car handy.

On 'Hurricane Bush', given the alternating gender naming conventions now in play, do you think it might be more appropriate to label him a 'himmicane'? ;-)

I agree. No one seems to care. The ham-handed Bush regime actually publishes it's manifesto and people still say we're making mountains out of mole-hills.

I'd like to share this with you: My oldest daughter is in junior high. Earlier this year her school began "lock-down drills". This entails thechildren being herded into the nearest room upon a moments notice, turning off all the lights, locking the door, and sitting quietly until a tap is heard on the door signifying that the drill is over. I was HORRIFIED!! The first time this was done, my daughter was in a storage room for 15 minutes!!!! Where else in society would you see this type of behavior? Prison!! This is not just a local phenomenon, this is now required nationwide. When I've tried discussing it with other parents they give me this blank stare and say, " Well, they must have a good reason" ,or they get upset and tell me it's meant to keep our kids safe. It terrifies me to see that our kids are being trained in this way and no one sees anything wrong with it. Am I crazy?????

tc--
I'm actually thinking about buying a boat. might be easier to slip get out of the country by packing up and heading across the gulf than trying to get across the border if a crisis truly does come.
and this isn't just daydreaming, either. it's a real contingency plan. I'm that frightenened.
*_*_*
and women--
ohmigod!
mebbe the school officials think they're doing what's best for the kids due to the school shootings. but, if it's that dangerous to send our kids to school, WHAT kind of society are we living in?
but, somehow, teaching our kids to expect violence doesn't really seem to me to be the way to go about it.
each time have to go through a metal detector to visit one of my kids [clients] at school, I worry about what we're teaching them. . . .

hadn't known about lock-downs. that is truly terrifying -- and, no, I don't see you as paranoid.

acourse, seeing as how that diagnosis is coming from a woman who's planning on keeping a boat as a get- out- of- dodge technique, you might want to get a second opinion. :)

would that boat have room for 4 more???

in a true crisis I wouldn't turn anyone away until the boat started to wallow.
well, if Rush asked for passage I'd tell him we were full up. but, he'd likely be dancing in the streets anyway.
come on da-own! :)

TC, your boat idea is excellent. If you need a fat guy for ballast, let me know.

Women, in one of the suburban communities near portland, in 1998, the police and school officials strip searched a whole class of 12-13 year olds over stolen CDs.
