OK! Maybe Now We're Getting Somewhere!

This from Crooks and Liars --
BREAKING: House Democrats Introducing Bill To Investigate Impeachment Of Alberto Gonzales
By: Logan Murphy on Monday, July 30th, 2007 at 1:35 PM - PDT

'MSNBC just reported that Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) announced he will be introducing a bill tomorrow that would require the House Judiciary Committee to begin an impeachment investigation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. At the beginning of the report MSNBC’s Chris Jansing says this bill was being presented by a group of House Democrats, but Inslee is the only one mentioned. More details to come…'
^^^
Well, it's a start.
May more and bigger fish fry soon!

I'm hyperventilating over here.
Hope this works.
***
One more thing: If you live in Washington or know someone who does, would you please write Inslee and thank him? Deluge him with correspondence!
Let everyone in Congress know we're paying attention and this sort of move will get votes much more effectively than any amount of money from the fat cats--

The arrogance of that smirking little punk hasn't left anybody with much of a choice.

Electrode Al HAS to be brought to heel. There's no other way.

I'm a member of the right, and even I think Gonzales should be impeached.

It is time Conservatives stop defending him.

I wrote about it at Copious Dissent - Your Daily Dose of Liberty.

yes, J R--
it was amazing to watch the 'I don't recalls' and 'I don't remembers' and the 'You'll have to ask the Presidents' just add up. He was in so deep his eyebrows were wet.

hey, d a--
I read your article.
well said!

Gonzales is incompetent. certainly, but I can't help but wonder if there isn't more to the whole thing, tho.

the more I've seen Bush, himself, in action lately-- the less incompetent and the more scheming I perceive him to be.

If the Democrats follow through with this it will be a miracle, since they fell in the neocon line on Bush's war.

I don't see why Gonzo has been continually given the chance to change is remarks that were taken under oath. I don't remember Clinton being given a chance to recant his testimony. Why does Gonzo get a week reprieve?

Dems need to get tough with these assholes and quit being such wusses.

hey, larry--
yes the dems have a lot to answer for.
I think I may begin to be seeing a method to their madness-- they need to have ALL their ducks in a row before taking on a president as entrenched as this one is.
the fact remains tho-- kids are DYING --as in dead-- not coming back-- dead. while they dither.

I believe with all my heart that Bush must be taken down-- but must we sacrifice our children in order to do it?

agreed, m e--
I think they're SO afraid of the press painting a picture of the dems on a witch hunt that they bend over backward to avoid that appearance.

but 2 factors make this a non-issue:
first-- the republicans WERE on a 6-year witch hunt against Clinton et al. they got away with it-- and much more.
second-- the obvious reason: crime after crime after crime has been uncovered among the republicans. only the far right wingnuts could possibly say the words 'witch hunt' with a straight face.

these people are not unintelligent -- at least I don't think they are.
the handwriting is on the wall concerning Bush and Cheney's intentions. can't they read it?
and I'm certain they can read polls.

so, they'd better get off the damn dime-- soon.

Impeaching him in the House should be easy, but to remove him requires conviction in the Senate by a 2/3 majority. That means 67 votes. They have 48 of their own and 1 independent. The Republicans need 33 votes and have LIEberman and 48 of their own. With Cheney breaking the tie, almost every GOPer up for reelection could vote ti impeach Gonzo to play moderate and still stop it.

oh TC-- :(
I hate it when your logic shows me why we're doomed to failure.
but, I'll bet you're absolutely right.

LET'S TALK said...

I will have to agree with TC also, it just might be stopped in the Senate.

g'morning, LT
yep. if the senior senator from my old state, MO, is any indication. he's a Bush groupie through and through, AND he's not up for reelection till 2010.
so, he's one sure vote against impeachment. there're plenty more like him, I'm sure. :(

TC, sometimes being right is a huge pain in the arse. :-(
