Hangin' In While Hangin' Out

Recently I’ve read in a couple of places about blogs being deserted. I can certainly understand why. After blogging for a little over 2 years about the machinations of our government, I’ve been burning out and I’ve thought seriously about throwing in the towel, myself.
But, though I don’t have that many regular readers and I wouldn’t leave behind nearly the hole that some other blogs would, I just can’t bring myself to axe the site completely.

So, as you may have noticed, I’m changing my focus. Instead of writing about the government regularly [though I may insert the occasional political or news item] I’m moving toward posting possible solutions to the myriad of problems the world faces today. Thus the articles on bicycle generators, stoves that can be donated to Darfur, sites where free donations can be given just by clicking, etc.
And I do still love to opine about history, politics, religion, etc. so I'll be airing my **ahem** 'wisdom', such as it is, on various topics. :)

I think I’ve found my new niche. It will be a way to make a contribution while staving off the depression I’ve been finding myself sinking into while researching articles on what our politicians are digging us deeper and deeper into.

BTW—if I do decide to stop entirely, I won’t do it without saying g’bye. And, no matter what happened, I would continue to visit the blogs of others just to stay in touch with all the friends I’ve made around blogsville.

Still, sometimes, it DOES get to be a bit much as I watch the earth liquifying and spinning down the drain. :(

two crows- I'm glad you've moved to a new niche because I keep finding real gems over here. I know how you feel about throwing in the towel, I think we've all felt that way at one time or another.

Hang in there, though! You're on my list of regular reads!

thanks, Mary Ellen--
that's all that keeps me going, some days: the thought that SOMEONE out there IS reading my schtick.

you're my first stop every day, too. in fact, your blog is one of my homepages--your tab is right next to PP&D.

Don't you go anywhere two crows. You have to keep talking to others regardless about what. Don't get depressed smoke a joint! People have been dropping like flies. Now is not the time to drop things. It's no biggie! it bothered me having mirth just delete her Blog without saying adios or fuck you or something! Pardon me, take care!

thanx for the pep talk, AAP--
my mouth is way too big to shut it for long. in fact, I just added something big [and political] for tomorrow.
but, I do hope to begin tending toward offering possible solutions rather than continually listing only all the problems we face. that way lies total burn-out for me.

two crows yes I was happy to see that. Myself I have hope. I don't know if you have been following my story line of late but someone contact me about 7 or 8 months ago in regard to one of my stories.
We have been corresponding routinely and he sends me his stories. I thought him a bit naive but kept giving him mt opinions and asking him to look at my stories because it was a lot worse than he thinks.
Well I finally said something and was contacted by his 65 year old son who let me know who I have been talking to. Did you ever hear of Jerome Goodman "The Relentless Liberal"?
He is a grassroots activist and organizer as well as a major figure in nuclear disarmament. He is behind every major accomplishment in the last 60 years. He is 90 now. Google Jerome Goodman you will be amazed!
I am going to meet him and Danny on the 8th. I will be attending one of Jerome's lectures and meeting and talking to both of them afterwards. Jerome is going to give me an autographed copy of his book. This is Jerome's site if you dont google him. on the top left read more about the Relentless Liberal
