If you're thinking of going to see Cloverfield this weekend, I have just one suggestion: DON'T!

Let me put it this way: Suppose you had voted for Bush -- twice. Seeing this show would've been the 3rd worst decision you'd made during the last 8 years or more. And it would've been a CLOSE 3rd.
A much better decision was getting up and leaving halfway through.
NO plot. NO coherent story line. The screen was so dark I couldn't see the action. Since a lot of the action was people being eaten alive by giant spiders [as far as I could make out], the dark screen was probably the best part of the movie

As for the BEST movie on offer, these days -- my vote is for The Bucket List. Totally awesome.
Anyone else have any nominees?

Wow---I'm so out of it, I never heard of Cloverfield. I don't go to the show very often, I usually wait until it's out on DVD. I'm way too cheap to pay the price at the theater...and that popcorn with the "REAL" Artificial Flavoring....as opposed to the fake artificial flavoring? Gross.

Thanks for the review - I'd heard Cloverfield was getting a lot of hype so thought I might want to see it. Now I don't have to!

I am happy to hear The Bucket List is good - I've been wanting to go see it!

hi, Mary Ellen--
your approach used to be mine, too. since I've been down here, tho, I go with friends almost every wednesday--when they're in town.
luckily, we get the senior discount and we get free popcorn--or I would've been even more upset at this awful movie than I was. [I didn't have the supports to ask for my money back. :( ]

hey, Mauigirl--
I'd heard Cloverfield was being touted all over-- That's why I posted this. why should EVERYONE suffer? and at full price, no less.

and, oh yes-- I plan to download or maybe even buy Bucket List. it's that good.
