All this week the thought has been swirling around my brain: Is Bill Clinton trying to sabotage Hillary's run? I had been in favor of her for various reasons though I wavered for a while -- then returned to her.
Now, though, I'm concerned that he might carry an undermining strategy on into the White House in order to show the world that he was a better president than she.
We've just had 7 years of Bush trying to outshine his dad.
We don't need a former president trying to outshine his wife.
It's time to rethink -- again.

I have a different theory. Bill is taking the traditional role of a Vice-President as the political hitman. Bill is not a loose cannon; he is Hillary loyal servant - spreading the slime the candidate herself dare not touch.
Wow Two Crows, I was having that same conversation with someone last night.
I think it's entirely possible that Bill is trying to sabotage Hillary.
But I can also see it kinghterrant's way, that Bill is doing exactly what she wants him to do.
two crows, if she's as smart as she seems to be. She will stop Bill from doing anything for her run.
He was in South Carolina and look at what just happen their with him running things.
hi knighterrant--
if so, that tactic has backfired mightily.
hey, poli--
and one thing that leads me further in that direction is the fact that he was a virtual godsend till this past week. but, as super- duper- Tuesday approaches, the more and more foot- in- mouth- disease he develops.
since Bill is by no means a stupid man, I have to wonder what his agenda is.
yes, LT--
neither one is a fool.
so what's with this meltdown?
it looks on purpose to me -- and it's certainly not Hillary's purpose. so----- whose?
two crows
I was never a Hillary fan but I never thought Bill might have been purposely trying to screw her up. Whether he did or not he certainly did. She's done and Obama's the man!
'She's done and Obama's the man!'
hi, AAP--
it certainly looks that way unless Obama does what so many dems are SOOO good at doing: shooting themselves in the foot.
btw--
I'm not suggesting that he even knows he's doing it.
being the pshrink I am, I'm certainly aware of the well-placed unconscious decision.
we've seen Bill's SELF-sabotage in the past -- this could be more of the same.
his teflon came to his rescue before. but Hillary has never had the diamond- coat he has seemed to wear with such ease throughout his career.
so, we'll have to see how this plays out but-- _I'm_ pretty much out of the fold at this point.
A lot of people were saying that Hillary was in charge when she took New Hampshire.
We cannot let South Carolina pull us away from what is to come.
There is Florida where Hillary will do well with the Cubans and Hispanics, so I really would not count her out just yet.
Sorry, I forgot the Florida delegates will not be counted for the Democrats.
I don't think Bill was trying to screw things up; I think I read that he's going to tone down his rhetoric after his attacks backfired in SC. But it does make you wonder how big a role he intends to have in the White House if she wins. Not everyone would like that.
hi, LT--
yep-- yet ANOTHER case of the DNC shooting itself in the foot.
in a fit of petulance it decided to screw Fla out of having a say in this primary. some folks around here are throwing their own tantrums by refusing to vote at all today if they can't vote in the primary.
huh? there's stuff on education and infrastructure and tax structure on our ballot still. **sigh**
and to think I seriously considered re-registering as a repub in order to vote for Huckabee and, hopefully, drive some repubs into the dem fold in Nov -- but didn't follow up. maybe I should have.
hi, Mauigirl--
yeah, he may not have been TRYING to --
as noted above, we've all seen how Bill can screw himself over without trying. this could just be another case of his doing that.
conscious agenda or unconscious agenda -- it doesn't really matter -- either way, he has reminded the American people of the down-side of having the Clintons in the White House.
I can't imagine. Then again I haven't been paying close attention. But really: it suits him much better to be back in the White House than not, and whatever else about him I never thought him to be particularly threatened by powerful women, predilection for interns-on-the-side notwithstanding.
hi, belledame222 and welcome to PP&D--
I swung from one to another to another right up till yesterday when the whole thing failed to matter.
I had known the DNC had said it wouldn't seat FL's delegates. what I hadn't realized was that their names wouldn't even be on the ballot!
rrrrrrggghhhhhhhh!!!
hope the rest of you had/will have fun choosing the candidate. I didn't get the chance.
thanks, DNC, for punishing me for something I had no control over--
don'tcha just love this country and all its infighting?
Yesterday I heard Romney say "and we'll make sure our kids get married before they have babies" or something like that...the crowd went wild.
Mitt, don't go see Juno...
hi, Poli--
oh. JUST what we need! kids getting married!!!
