Please note the button on the sidebar linking to the Million Can March.
Food pantries are struggling now as the increase in demand meets the decrease in donations.
So, in answer to the Teabagging Parties scheduled for July 4, Les Enrages.org has launched a drive for 1 million cans of food to be donated to food pantries around the world.
And there's more! [That came out like one of those late-night commercials -- sorrreeee.]
RevPhat has emailed Rachel Maddow asking her to mention the Million Can March on her show. And she's asking the rest of us to do the same. Rachel's e-ddress is: Rachel@msnbc.com

I can definitely start the march with several cans. I have to go BACK to the grocery store tomorrow for the things we forgot today. I will pick up some stuff for this.
Excellant idea!
hi LeftLeaningLady--
yeah. did you go to the link? they invited the right-wing bloggers to participate.
I'm for urging the conservative bloggers to donate tea **giggle!**
I did go to the link, although I have not yet sent any emails. And I did not go to the grocery store today, but will have to for fresh veggies by mid-week.
I didn't see any way to ensure my cans were counted though. How will we know we have reached a million?
hi LeftLeaningLady--
yeah I didn't find a way to gauge how many cans have been donated, either. I hope they set something up so we can see how we're doing.
I did see where they said 170 cans had been donated. And I left a comment telling them that I had 22 cans rounded up for donation.
but, that blog gets hundreds of comments daily -- so I don't see how that will help.
and they said money will be accepted and counted as well. I just don't know how they plan to do it. I'll keep an eye on the blog. maybe they're still setting up the counter?
Thanks for your support. Yeah, I plan to do an update post on our progress on Sat, which starts the one week countdown. So far I've received notice of 192 items donated, which makes me wonder if people will be waiting until closer to the holiday to make their donations.
You and your readers can tally together the number of items donated and then post a story about it. Send me the link and I'll be posting all the links. And adding up everyone's donations. And then I'll post that.
If you have any questions just come by www.unrulymob.blogspot.com and leave me a comment on the newest thread.
