The polls are becoming ridiculous. We have the power to tell them, 'Eough, already!'
The Huffington Post is urging us to simply refuse to answer their questions when they call--then quietly hang up. So, had enough?

The only thing that bothers me about this is how it will effect moveon.org from their calls to get out the vote. Moveon.org uses polls to compile their data to see which areas are more likely to vote Republican because those are the area's they use to target their calls to sway them to vote for a Democratic candidate.
This could turn around and bite us in the ass.

As far as exit polling,I never answer because my vote is private and that's the way I want to keep it.

You know those polls are as worthless as the so called experts. They have been so wrong over everything and will cotinue to be. There are no more experts today beyond us in the trenches and the polls are worthless as people often hide their true feelings and often change their mind and anyway those polls only catch about one out of 100,000.

interesting...i haven't gotten a call.

but i can understand why you'd encourage this type of ignoring of the polsters.

hi, Mary Ellen --
hmmmmm-- I hadn't thought about that end of things. I know the pollsters are getting some ridiculing after NH -- and the press, generally, are getting a well-deserved drubbing these days as they show themselves more willing to report on Britney's antics or Hillary's cleavage than on anything of substance like a candidate's plans for _after_ the election.
I know _I'm_ fed up.

hi, AAP--
yeah, the more I read about how the press is acting these days [and that includes the pollsters and those who report on their results] the more it sounds like the fraudulent 'reporting' that went on in the 19th century.
things seemed to settle down somewhat during and after the depression. then the McCarthey era seemed to REALLY give them a wake-up call.
we need another one now.

hi, rc and welcome to pp&d--
I haven't received a call this season -- yet.
last cycle I was living in Missour -- a major swing state-- and it seemed as if I would barely hang up the phone before it would ring again.
I decided then that I didn't like living in a swing state.

now, I think I heard that Florida [where I am now] has been declared one, this time around.
gee-- lucky me.

This is so true- and I think this is a great post on a topic that I am sure is not top of mind for enough people.

hi, Fran--
yeah, it's getting pretty ridiculous. and I sometimes wonder if the people the pollsters survey are actually telling the truth in the first place.

maybe people are so fed up with the media they're feeding them misinformation. wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth???
